This has been more than just a slogan at Simplex since our founder started Simplex in 2012. It is the company mindset, from the owners to the technicians behind the install in your home or business. It means you can expect professionalism, courtesy, dependability, and proficiency from everyone at Simplex… over and above the details outlined on a signed contract.

In the mid ‘90s, our founder Brian Lunbeck began working as an electrician installing electrical and designing lighting in homes. As technology transformed the AV business over the coming decades, Brian’s expertise grew as well, and he transitioned into A/V full time working for a few local companies in Kansas City until starting Simplex in 2012. Since its humble beginnings in Olathe Kansas, Simplex, now headquartered in Roeland Park is a full-service technology company featuring state-of-the-art equipment and a professional staff of highly trained technicians. As technology has continued to change Simplex has evolved into a leader in home and small business technologies.

In 2020, as the need for home technology grew due to the pandemic. Brian faced the same realities as a lot of small business owners, to grow or shrink to accommodate the times. Brian chose to grow and brought in Robert Wheeler.

Robert has spent more than 25 years in the A/V and home technology business. Starting as in installer he worked his way up into project management, design, sales, and ownership. After selling his A/V company in 2005 Robert went to work as a manufactures rep eventually buying that rep firm and ultimately selling that company in 2017. After selling his company he started consulting for several companies until finding his way back to work with Brian and grow Simplex to what it is today.

In 2022 Brian and Robert became partners in Simplex and are continuing to grow and thrive as the need for home technology grows. Adding categories like lighting, shades, lighting fixtures, conference technologies, and more.

A lot has changed in the 10 plus years since Simplex Began, but one thing hasn’t. Simplex’s commitment to service and expertise has remained the same.
